Our Story

Welcome to The Cubbyhole Gift Shop – a small, independent business based in Lancashire, dedicated to thoughtful, handcrafted gifts.

Founded by Joanne in 2015, the Cubbyhole began as a simple extension of her Complementary Therapy practice. What started with a few 3rd party aromatherapy candles offered to clients has since grown into a full-range gift shop, delivering gifts and carefully curated products to customers across the UK.

With a background in holistic therapies, Joanne brings the same care, attention to detail, and passion for wellbeing into every item she creates. From hand-poured wax melts to soothing home fragrances, each product is designed to bring comfort, calm, and a little joy into your everyday life.

In 2019, the Cubbyhole relocated from Warwickshire to Lancashire, where it continues to thrive as a family-run operation. Behind the scenes, Joanne leads on product design and creation, whilst behind the scenes, her husband Charles manages logistics, deliveries, and those all-important Post Office runs. Their loyal dog Cassie completes the team as the Head of Security and friendly delivery companion.
