🕯️ Candle Tips: Get the Most Out of Your Scents
If you’re a candle lover, there are a few simple tips that can make a big difference in how your products perform, from stronger scents to longer burn times and better safety.
Here’s everything you need to know to get the best out of your candles.
🔥 Candle Tips
1. Always Trim Your Wick
Before each burn, trim your wick to about 5mm. This prevents soot build up, keeps the flame controlled, and helps your candle last longer.
Pro Tip: Use a wick trimmer or nail scissors. A trimmed wick = a cleaner burn.
2. Burn It Long Enough the First Time
When you light a candle for the first time, let it burn until the entire top layer of wax is melted usually 4 hours depending on the size.
This prevents "tunnelling", where the wax only melts in the centre and wastes the rest.
3. Don't Burn for Too Long
Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. This keeps the glass from overheating and helps your candle maintain its scent.
4. Keep Away from Drafts
Burn your candle in a draft-free area. A moving flame can cause uneven burning, smoking, and wasted wax.
5. Reuse Your Jar
Once your candle is done, don’t throw the jar! Clean it out and reuse it for:
-
Storage (cotton pads, pens, etc.)
- Pop a tealight in and use it as a tealight holder
